- Arctic Research Support and Logistics Town Hall Meeting
Wednesday, 7 December 2011 from 11:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. PST
The NSF Arctic Research Support and Logistics (RSL) program will hold a
Town Hall meeting in the ARCUS Arctic Community Meeting Room on
Wednesday, 7 December 2011 from 11:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. PST. The meeting
room is on the 4th floor of the Marriott Marquis, Pacific Room J.
NSF program managers will provide an overview of the RSL program and its
role in facilitating arctic research, and then facilitate a discussion
of three key areas in the program:
- Environmental Compliance - The role of NSF, the logistics contractor
CH2M HILL Polar Services (CPS), and researchers in meeting compliance
obligations. - Safety in the Field - Individual's responsibilities, NSF's role and
policy, and the role of CPS and other station operators. - Feedback - How NSF receives input, including a role for the OPP Office
Advisory Committee, and how feedback is incorporated in the logistics
program and in other areas such as merit review.
For anyone wishing to join remotely, a GoToMeeting has been set up for
the Research Support and Logistics Town Hall:

The RSL Town Hall will be followed by the Arctic Natural Sciences Town
Hall meeting at 12:30-1:30 p.m. Please note that the RSL program
managers were not able to travel to AGU and will be delivering the
presentation remotely. However, there will be representatives from the
Arctic Sciences Division in the room.
The Arctic Sciences Division supports the ARCUS meeting room and in
particular is facilitating Town Hall meetings about Division activities
to engage in a dialog with researchers working in the Arctic. The
Division sincerely hopes you will participate in the dialog with NSF.
