11th International Circumpolar Remote Sensing Symposium
21-24 September 2010
Cambridge, United Kingdom
The registration deadline for the 11th International Circumpolar Remote
Sensing Symposium (CRSS) is Thursday, 15 July 2010. The symposium will
be held 21-24 September 2010 at the Scott Polar Research Institute in
Cambridge, United Kingdom. For additional details on the registration
process, please go to:
http://alaska.usgs.gov/science/geography/CRSS2010/registration.html.
The conference deals specifically with remote sensing applications in
the polar environments, both arctic and Antarctic. It will provide an
international forum for the discussion of work currently being carried
out in the circumpolar regions. Topics that have been discussed at
previous CRSS meetings include environmental monitoring, the cryosphere,
resource prospecting, vegetation measurement, polar GIS applications,
and many others.
Registration deadline: Thursday, 15 July 2010.

UKPN Circumpolar Remote Sensing Workshop
20 September 2010
Cambridge, United Kingdom
Applications for the United Kingdom Polar Network (UKPN) Remote Sensing
Workshop are due by Thursday, 15 July 2010. The UKPN Remote Sensing
Workshop will be held 20 September 2010, prior to the 11th Circumpolar

Research Institute.
Directed at graduate students and other early career researchers,
sessions in development include:
- Open source remote sensing and GIS;
- Imaging climate change; and
- Innovating new techniques.
Suggestions from potential participants are encouraged. The day will
also feature a career mentoring panel and will culminate with the CRSS
Icebreaker Reception. While attendance at the CRSS conference is
encouraged, it is not required in order to attend the UKPN day.
Attendance at the event is free of charge and some funds are available
to assist with travel costs, attendance at the associated CRSS, and
conference presentation prizes.
