The U.S. Army Cold Regions Research and Engineering Laboratory (CRREL)
seeks a Research Physicist to conduct independent snow physics research
in our cutting-edge snow modeling program. The Research Physicist will
apply expertise in theoretical and modeling aspects of temperature
gradient and grain-boundary diffusion driven snow metamorphism from a
micro-structural grain-scale perspective. Expertise in numerical
modeling and methods related to phase change and moving interface
problems; and, specialized experience in computer topographic techniques
for obtaining digital representations of snow microstructure including
construction of graphical interfaces for data and model display and
analysis are essential. The Research Physicist is responsible for
securing funds, conducting independent research and publishing results
in scientific literature. A PhD is preferred. U.S. citizenship is
required.
CRREL is part of the U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center

in the world. CRREL is located in a rural scenic setting adjacent to
Dartmouth College, in a four-season recreational area. On-site child
