The organizers of The 2009 Alaska Weather Symposium announce a
preliminary call for abstracts. The symposium provides a forum for the
exchange of operational and research information related to weather in
the Alaska environment. Participation from academic, research,
government and private sectors is encouraged.
This will be a three-day symposium held at the University of Alaska
Fairbanks campus on Tuesday-Thursday, 10-12 March 2009. Primary areas of
focus are anticipated to be:
- Operational forecasting and observational sources in Alaska,
- Polar aspects of weather, and
- Datasets related to Alaska and polar weather.
However, all abstracts relating to weather in Alaska are welcome.
The deadline for one-paragraph abstracts for a 20-minute presentation is
Tuesday, 13 January 2009, and registration is required by Tuesday, 24
February 2009. Please check back on the symposium webpage for the
abstract submission and registration procedures, which will be available
soon.
