The organizers of the 2009 Arctic Frontiers Science Conference, announce
a call for papers. The conference will be divided into two primary
sessions: The Policy Conference, "The Age of the Arctic," to be held
19-20 January 2009, and the Science Conference, "Arctic Marine
Ecosystems in an Era of Rapid Climate Change," to be held 21-23 January
2009. The conference is scheduled for 18-23 January 2009, in Tromso,
Norway. The call is for papers to be given at the Scientific Conference
only.
The scientific conference will focus primarily on the structure and
biogeochemical cycling of arctic marine ecosystems in a period of rapid
climate change. The conference will also focus on sustainable
management of arctic regions. In cooperation with ArcticNet
(http://www.arcticnet-ulaval.ca/), the conference is organized by ARCTOS
(www.nfh.uit.no/arctos/) and will assemble key results from a suite of
recent and ongoing international research efforts that have contributed
significantly to the current understanding of climate and ecosystem
interactions in the pan-arctic region.
Interested participants are asked to submit abstracts that fall within
the scope of this conference. For further information, please go to the

All abstracts should be submitted on the AFT2009 Abstract submission form,
available at the conference website. All fields must be filled in
completely. The abstract text should not exceed 400 words.
Completed forms should be emailed, with the subject line: Abstract for
Arctic Frontiers 2009, no later than 15 October 2008, to:

The official language of the conference is English. Conference updates,
