The conference organizers of the Ninth International Conference on
Permafrost (NICOP) announce a special workshop, "QRC Workshop in Honor
of Lincoln Washburn: New Insights into Periglacial Processes, Landforms,
and Environments," to be held Friday, 4 July 2008. This special workshop
is being offered in honor of Washburn's remarkable achievements in polar
research. It will be held after the NICOP meetings, in the Akasofu
Building on the University of Alaska Fairbanks campus.
This one-day workshop will present recent work from a diverse group of
researchers, including:
