The Council of the University of the Arctic (UArctic) has decided to
establish three Regional Offices of Undergraduate Studies. The three
offices will be responsible for the distance degree completion delivery
of UArctic's Circumpolar Studies Program within their respective
regions: North America, Russia, and the Nordic-Barents Region.
UArctic member institutions are invited to submit proposals to host a
Regional Office of Undergraduate Studies for Russia or the
Nordic-Barents Region. Note that the call does not apply to the North
American office at this time as the term of the current office is until
June 2009.
Applicants should demonstrate in the proposals adherence to UArctic's
values and goals, relevant competency and experience in international
cooperation, and the ability to deliver distance education at the
bachelor's level.
Where relevant, applicants should present their institutional experience
in participating in the development and/or delivery of the Circumpolar
Studies Program.
Applicants are requested to present evidence of support by the
institution to host the office with a letter from the rector, as well as
a clear financial plan, consistent with the proposal approved by the
UArctic Council. The institution should be prepared to work with UArctic
to secure funding for the activity.
Applications must be submitted by Friday, 31 August 2007. Please see the
UArctic website for more information:
