The Engineer Research and Development Center, Cold Regions Research and
Engineering Laboratory (ERDC-CRREL) is seeking applications for the
position of Chief, Research and Engineering Division, to lead and direct
the execution of basic and applied research in eight technical areas.
ERDC-CRREL is an Army research laboratory located in Hanover, New
Hampshire.
The Division Chief will serve as senior advisor to the CRREL Director on
technical execution issues and will lead a diverse, technical workforce
of researchers and technicians (100 to 150 team members) and 5 technical
Branch Chiefs. The Division Chief will play a key role in strategic
planning and program development, and will significantly impact the
program by obtaining funds and assuring satisfaction of sponsors. Duties
of the position further include providing direction and corporate
context, building teams, maintaining a positive and productive work
environment and a high level of satisfaction among a multi-disciplinary
and diverse staff, approving multi-year and long-range work plans and
budgets, and managing programs to achieve goals and objectives. The
Division Chief will also maintain a world-class scientific and
engineering staff through strategic planning for organizational and
human capital needs, develop challenging assignments, assess
performances, coach and mentor staff, provide career counseling and
recommend professional development training, fellowships, and
sabbaticals.
This is a permanent, federal government position offering the full range
of retirement, health and life insurance benefits. Salary range is
$104,826-$136,273, depending on qualifications and experience.
