Idaho State University Department of Anthropology is seeking a
Post-doctoral Research Associate (Zooarchaeologist) for the Sanak
Islands Biocomplexity Project to begin 1 May 2006. The position is a
twelve-month appointment for three years. The department is seeking a
highly motivated and experienced zooarchaeologist with experience in the
analysis of marine archaeological fauna and the method and theory of
zooarchaeology. Those with experience in Atlantic, Pacific, or Arctic
archaeological faunas are encouraged to apply. Sanak Island is located
on the edge of the continental shelf in the eastern Aleutian Islands,
western Gulf of Alaska. The candidate will be responsible for managing a
lab of several graduate and undergraduate students, directing the
analysis of midden remains from the project, and participating in two
summer field seasons. Extensive publication opportunities are available
in all phases of the project. Teaching opportunities are possible.
The starting salary is $37,000 USD per year and medical and other
