You are invited to attend the 18th International Conference on Port and
Ocean Engineering Under Arctic Conditions (POAC). Hosted by Clarkson
University in Potsdam, New York, the conference will be held 26-30 June
2005. POAC conferences provide a direct link between scientists,
engineers, and designers of arctic structures and ships by exchanging
knowledge in the form of the newest research results, case studies, and
development plans for arctic activities.
The first POAC Conference was held in Norway in 1971 and is held every
two years at a different international venue. Typically, there are about
150 participants at the conference presenting and discussing papers
related to many ice engineering topics.
Potsdam is located in the foothills of the Adirondack Mountains. There
are a number of activities planned that will ensure both technical and
cultural enjoyment for everyone. Travel information for visitors to
Clarkson is available on the web at:
http://www.clarkson.edu/visiting/index.html
English is the official language of the conference. Papers will be
accepted until 25 March 2005.
