RE: IASC-related Travel Support Available
The Polar Research Board, which serves as the U.S. National Committee to
the International Arctic Science Committee (IASC), is pleased to
announce that we have some funds from the National Science Foundation
that are targeted to support the travel of U.S. scientists wishing to
participate in IASC activities. Travel could be to the annual IASC
meeting, to be held during Arctic Science Summit Week (23-27 April) in
Iqaluit, Canada, or to any working group meeting at other times during
the year. Information about Arctic Science Summit Week is available on
the IASC web site at: http://www.iasc.no/. We hope that such funding
will encourage more U.S. participation and leadership within the
organization, and thus give the U.S. a more effective voice in planning
and conducting IASC activities. This opportunity is open to any U.S.
resident active in arctic research.
