CONFERENCE ANNOUNCEMENT
Ethnosocial processes in Siberia
(19-21 May, Krasnoiarsk)

This annual conference examines theory, methodology, and contemporary issues
surrounding ethnosociological processes in Siberia. Papers at past
conferences have focused on the problems of Slavic/Turkic interrelations,
social and demographic challenges in Siberia, and the effect of market
reforms on traditional societies and the ecology.
The conference invites interested sociologists, economists, legal
specialists, historians, anthropologists, demographers, political scientists
and local activists to submit abstracts. The results of the conference will
be published as an edited collection and as a set of recommendations to
Federal and local government officials.
Interested individuals should send their name, title, affiliation, address,
telephone and fax numbers, and abstract to the organizing committee by
March 20, 1999.
