Career Development Webinar Series, scheduled for Wednesday, 28 March

This week's webinar is entitled "Why Bother with Social Media? New Tools
for Your Science Communication and Career" and will be presented by Liz
Neeley, Assistant Director of Science Outreach at COMPASS Communication
Partnership for Science and the Sea. Social media is all the buzz... but
is it more than that? This webinar will focus on how and why the
information landscape has changed and what that means for scientists. It
will explore the various ways researchers can participate in the online
conversation with an eye toward providing meaningful answers to the
question of "why bother?" The presentation will also talk about the idea
of branding yourself and your research niche, show you options for using
social media to your advantage, and discuss strategies for creating a
professional online presence.
