    Barents Studies: Peoples, Economics and Politics

The Barents Studies: Peoples, Economics and Politics journal announces a
call for submissions to its second issue.

The focus of this international and multidisciplinary academic journal
is original and current research results concerning the peoples,
economies, and politics in the Barents Euro-Arctic region. The intended
audience is researchers, students, and readers interested in current
issues and developments in the region. The journal will be published
twice a year electronically and as a paper version.

Three issues to be published in 2013-2014 will cover different aspects
of sustainability in the region: the political, the social, and the
economic. The fourth issue will consist of a selection of academic
articles, news, reviews, and presentations.

For the second issue the journal welcomes submissions related to the
social dimension of sustainability in the Barents region. The journal
will contain three to four peer-reviewed scientific articles. Innovative
approaches to the study of the social aspects of development in the
region are welcome as are reviews on recent regionally relevant books,
announcements, and presentations of current research.

    eCBMP Newsletter

The Circumpolar Biodiversity Monitoring Program (CBMP) announces a call
for submissions to its e-newsletter. Short submissions are invited on
the theme of "International cooperation in Arctic biodiversity
monitoring." The submissions should be 200 words or less. Accompanying
images should be submitted in low-resolution files (jpeg or gif).
Entries may be edited for style and brevity.

The Grey Literature Network Service (GreyNet) invites submission of
records to the Grey Guide Repository, a guide to good practice in grey
literature.

GreyNet seeks to facilitate dialog, research, and communication about
grey literature and to identify and distribute information on and about
grey literature in networked environments.

The Grey Guide Repository is an online, community driven, and
open-resource forum and repository of good practice in the field of grey
literature.

    2014 IASC Yearbook
    IASC 25th Anniversary Bulletin

The International Arctic Science Committee (IASC) announces a call for
contributions of photographs to the 2014 yearbook and the IASC 25th
anniversary bulletin.

For the yearbook, to be published in April 2014, the committee asks
council members, related research institutions, and scientists to
contribute new photographs. They welcome images depicting all areas of
arctic science including scientists in the field, animals, landscapes,
and everyday life at work.

For the bulletin, the committee seeks photographs on IASC's early years,
meetings during the years 1988-2005, or any other IASC-related images.

Photography image quality must be about 3500 x 2500 pixel. Contributions
should include a short description of the image and background
information about the project, identification of the location in the
image, name of photographer and institute, and contact information.

Selections will be based on geographical and thematic representation.
Only photographers whose contributions are selected for publication will
be notified. Unless otherwise indicated, IASC will assume free use of
the photograph for any IASC involved publications.
