The Norwegian Polar Institute (NPI) invites applications for a research
scientist position in numerical ocean modeling. The position is funded
through the Tidewater Glacier Retreat Impact on Fjord circulation on
ecosystems project (TIGRIF). The work will be conducted in the Research
Department within the Section of Oceans and Sea Ice at NPI. The position
is full time for a fixed term of three years, with a possible extension
of one year, and is located in Tromso, Norway.
The successful candidate must hold a Masters or Doctorate degree in
physical oceanography or a related geophysical field, or in
computational mathematics/numerics. Experience with running and/or
analyzing results from hydrodynamical circulation models is required. An
interest in connecting physics with biogeochemistry or marine biology is
an asset. Publication history is also of particular importance.
