The Alaska Center for Climate Assessment and Policy (ACCAP) will host a
webinar entitled "February 2016 NWS Alaska Climate Forecast Briefing" on
Friday, 19 February 2016 from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. AKST. The Speaker will
be Rick Thoman of the National Weather Service Alaska Region.
This webinar will will review recent climate conditions around Alaska,
forecast tools, and the Climate Prediction Center's forecast for
February and the remaining winter/early spring season.
Participation in person is also available at the University of Alaska
Fairbanks, Akasofu Building, Room 407.

The Alaska Center for Climate Assessment and Policy (ACCAP) will host a
webinar entitled "Evaluating Scenario Planning to Understand Climate
Change" on Tuesday, 23 February 2016 at 10:00 a.m. AKST. The Speaker
will be Nancy Fresco of the Scenarios Network for Alaska and Arctic
Planning.
This webinar will will explore climate scenario planning. A case study
from the National Park Service and the Scenarios Network for
Alaska and Arctic Planning will be used to offer some insights into what works,
how communication can be improved, and how to move forward.

Polar Educators International will host a webinar entitled "Italy &
United States of America - Climate Change Science and Communication" on
Tuesday, 23 February 2016 at 8:00 a.m. AKST and Thursday, 25 February
2016 at 2:00 p.m. AKST. The Speakers will be Paolo Gabrielli, Jason
Cervenec, and Alessia Cicconi. Please note that the webinar on Tuesday,
23 February 2016 will be presented in Italian and the webinar on
Thursday, 25 February 2016 will be presented in English.
This webinar will explain the use of Ice cores in Paleoclimatology and
present and example of how climatic change communication is dealt with
academia.
This webinar is a part of the Master Class International Program. U.S.
and Italian Educators may be eligible for a certificate of participation
for this program.
