The British Museum and the Anthropologists' Fund for Urgent Anthropological Research invite applications for two Research Fellowships in Urgent Anthropology. These fixed-term 18-month positions are required to spend part of the fellowship period in the field and part in the British Museum in London, United Kingdom (UK).
The Fellowships are open to postdoctoral applicants with previous research experience in the circumpolar north.
Fellows are required to spend part of their fellowship period in the field and part in the British Museum, where they are expected to contribute to its academic life and collections research. In the Museum, the Fellows will be affiliated with the Department of Africa, Oceania, and the Americas.
Applicants should submit a project proposal, including research plan and timeline, intended outputs, and a budget. The budget should include all personal and research expenses, within the research community and in the UK, insurance, and costs of equipment necessary for the project. The project proposal should not be more than four pages, excluding bibliography. Applicants must also include a curriculum vitae, a brief summary of previous research experience (maximum 1 page), and two letters of reference.
