The College of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences (CFOS) at the University of Alaska Fairbanks (UAF) invite applications for at least two Assistant or Associate Professor positions. These full-time tenure-track positions will be located at UAF in Fairbanks, Alaska.
Applicants must hold a PhD in oceanography or closely related discipline. Post-doctoral and teaching experience are highly preferred.
Applicants with sea-going programs in chemical, geological, physical, biological, or fisheries oceanography and whose research plans include use of the ice-capable Global Class research vessel R/V Sikuliaq are encouraged to apply.
The successful candidates will teach core courses and/or develop specialty oceanography and/or marine science courses for the graduate and undergraduate academic programs, develop a vigorous externally funded sea-going research program, and mentor graduate students. Faculty members will hold office hours appropriate for the courses being taught, and continue to develop and modify course curriculum. Faculty are expected to serve on advisory committees and participate in other professional, university, and community activities.
