Fairweather LLC invites applications for the position of Remote Sensing Technologist. This full-time position will be located in Anchorage, Alaska.
Required skills include:
- Ability to work with minimum direct supervision and possess self-motivation;
- Ability to work as a member of a team;
- Ability to work in Arctic field environment for extended periods of time;
- Demonstrated and verifiable interpersonal skills; and
- Experience and moderate proficiency with Microsoft Windows and Office Suite, including Outlook.
Essential duties include, but are not limited to:
- Monitor status of the Atmospheric Radiation Measurement Mobile Facility number 3 (AMF3) systems;
- Work with personnel in the field to diagnose and repair malfunctioning computer systems, scientific instruments, power generation, and electronic equipment;
- Launch radiosonde/sounding balloons and verify data collection;
- Inspect and maintain instruments;
- Assist in planning and preparing for the installation, replacement, and repair of computer systems, scientific instruments, and electronic equipment;
- Reinstall Total Sky Imager, Multi-Filter Radiometer, and Cimel Sunphotometer instruments; and
- Calibrate Microwave Radiometer with liquid nitrogen.
