The Svalbard Integrated Arctic Earth Observing System (SIOS) invites applications from SIOS member institutions for a funding opportunity focused on acquiring aerial imagery and hyperspectral data over Svalbard.
SIOS is looking for proposals from the Svalbard research community to conduct scientific projects using hyperspectral imagery (HSI) and aerial imagery (RGB) to be acquired by airborne remote sensing platforms, such as aircraft and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).
This call of opportunity is open to employees from SIOS member institutions meeting the following criteria:
- All of the applicants must follow the SIOS data policy and SIOS access policy, under which data and geospatial products resulting from this activity must be made available through the SIOS data management system (SDMS); and
- Specified image/data acquisition period must be between 1 April 2021 and 15 September 2021.
Applications should be submitted electronically using the online form on the SIOS website. Applications will be received by SIOS-KC and evaluated for scientific relevance and feasibility of data acquisition.
