The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at the University of Alaska Fairbanks invites applications for a position at the Assistant/Associate Professor level in environmental organic chemistry. This tenure track position will be located in Fairbanks, Alaska.
Duties include:
- Assist the Department and University to develop and maintain academic programs,
- Develop independent research program that engages undergraduate and graduate students,
- Pursue external funding to support this program,
- Publish results in the peer-reviewed literature,
- Teach organic and general chemistry and a specialty graduate course, and
- Mentoring of undergraduate and graduate students.
The successful candidate is expected to establish a vigorous research program that complements existing strengths in environmental chemistry and/or biochemistry and neuroscience, mentor graduate and undergraduate students, and teach undergraduate organic and general chemistry and graduate courses in Environmental Chemistry.
Candidates should hold a PhD in organic chemistry or related discipline. Postdoctoral experience is preferred.
