The Chugach Government Services invites applications for a computer network administrator onboard the U.S. Coast Guard Cutter (USCGC) Healy. This full-time position will be located in Seattle, Washington and underway on the Healy.
The successful candidate will provide all aspects of IT support for Scientific Research Vessel USCGC Healy, working both underway and on shore. Underway deployments are between two and eight weeks. Onshore work includes an on-call rotation. Customer base includes research scientists, technicians, outreach personnel, and military personnel. The successful candidate will have strong technical skills and the ability to provide positive user support at a wide range of skill levels and interests.
Essential duties include:
- Network administration;
- Server administration;
- User support;
- Hardware maintenance;
- Ship-to-shore communications (Satellite Systems);
- Underway maintenance and support on board USCGC Healy;
- Information assurance to federal government (DISA) standard;
- Firewall, router, and switch configuration and maintenance; and
- Other tasks as directed.
Qualifications include a certificate from an accredited community or technical college in Computer Science or related field, or two years System Administrator experience, and the ability to receive Secret Security Clearance. Applicants must be U.S. citizens.
