The Organizing Committee of the workshop of the International Ice Charting Working Group Data Assimilation Working Group together with the EU FP7 ICE-ARC Project invite you to a workshop that will take place at the Novotel hotel (http://www.novotel.com/gb/hotel-8505-novotel-toulouse- centre-wilson/index.shtml) in the heart of Toulouse, France on September 15th to 16th 2014. This workshop will continue a series of events in Oslo (2007), Copenhagen (2008), Norrköping (2010), Ottawa (2011) and Bremen (2013).
The focus of the workshop is on research and development related to numerical sea ice analysis and prediction. General topics considered appropriate for this workshop include:
- Sea ice observations and uncertainties
- Sea ice data assimilation (methods and results)
- Sea ice model parameterizations and coupling to ocean and atmosphere models
- Verification approaches for sea-ice analyses and forecasts
In keeping with the workshop theme, we will provide 30 minute time slots for presentations including 5 to 10 minutes for discussion and it is expected that most attendees will make a presentation. Participants should provide a short abstract in the registration form. The workshop is limited to 40 participants. We appreciate a registration to the workshop not later than 15 June 2014.
