Between 1976 and 1986, his research included geological mapping, structural analysis and engineering geology in the Omineca Belt of southeastern British Columbia. Since 1986, as a Research Scientist at the Geological Survey of Canada, he has studied crustal structure and tectonic evolution of the northern Yukon, Beaufort-Mackenzie Basin and Arctic region. He has also mapped in the Foothills of northeastern British Columbia and adjacent southern Yukon and Northwest Territories.
