Current Research

Currently completing a book on the history of Arctic Sovreignty in North America (Alaska, Greenland, and the Canadian Arctic) 3000 BCE-present. Related to the book, I have been researching the global warming trend as it affects the Arctic in comparison to previous climate changes as well as the history of Palaeo-Eskimo and Thule migrations, their struggle for self-government, the evolution of international law (especially law of the sea) and circumpolar countries' Arctic policies.
