Current Research
Dr. Petty's research interests include: Arctic/Antarctic sea ice, atmosphere-ice-ocean interaction, extreme Arctic weather events, polar oceanography, and sea ice predictability. His work primarily involves statistical/geospatial analysis of satellite, airborne and in-situ sea ice observations. Dr. Petty has also developed idealized sea ice models and adapted/analyzed more sophisticated climate models.
