Seattle , Washington 98105United StatesBioDr. Light's primary research interests are in understanding radiative transfer in ice and snow, optical and structural properties of sea ice, and laboratory and field investigations of ice physics. She has participated in four field campaigns on Arctic sea ice, including four months continuous duty on Ice Station SHEBA. Dr. Light played a leadership role in developing a freezer laboratory at the Polar Science Center (UW) and currently manages this facility. She has extensive experience working in cold room laboratories, including work with imaging systems, temperature control, and the preparation of samples for the assessment of microstructure and small scale morphology.
