12:45 p.m. | Interagency Arctic Research Policy Committee (IARPC) Arctic Observing Systems Collaboration Team (AOSCT) Town Hall Meeting Location: Ballroom DE The AOSCT presents one forum for the US Arctic observing community to develop and sustain action on key topics. The AOSCT is hosting an in-person town hall style collaboration meeting to gather community input on future directions for this collaboration team. That input could concern the types of presentations that would be valuable to host, the specific foci that could use attention or even suggestions for new milestones. Please join us for this informal discussion. For further information, please contact Sandy Starkweather at sandy.starkweather [at] noaa.gov |

Multidisciplinary drifting Observatory for the Study of Arctic Climate (MOSAiC) Meeting Location: Steel The Multi-disciplinary drifting Observatory for the Study of Arctic Climate (MOSAiC) is a proposed, year-long coupled-system process study through the central Arctic in 2019-2020. The Polarstern icebreaker will serve as a drifting observatory for coupled, inter-disciplinary observations in the atmosphere, ice, ocean, and ecosystem. Surrounding the icebreaker will be a distributed array of autonomous systems for capturing spatial variability and heterogeneity on model grid box scales. At larger scales MOSAiC will link with a number of multi-scale observational and modeling activities as part of the Year of Polar Prediction. As we form an identity for the US contributions to MOSAiC, this session will provide an overview of the initiative and offer a venue to discuss potential ideas and contributions. This meeting is open to all. For further information, please contact Matt Shupe at matthew.shupe [at] noaa.gov |
